Residing at Home away from Home, Sustaining our Culture calls for Special efforts from our People!   They have succeeded remarkably in this respect! Here are the few evidences!

Movies of Tamil & other Languages are released at all places wherever they live in large Numbers.I had already dealt this aspect in my previous Post- 25.
Even in such Places, popular Movies are subjected to close scrutiny by the Parents whether they are watchable accompanied by Kids.One such Movie was-

Here is an interesting Episode observed by me!
When this Movie was released at one such locality, only Six persons were there in a specific Theatre to watch the Movie.The Parents who took their Kids inside the Hall were embarrassed  to sit there. They called for few of their Friends to join them if possible with Kids. Friends, however on scrutiny,  could only decide not to join just because the Movie was about Farmer Suicides in India but in Humour-mode! Since they abstained, the Movie was watched by only Six Persons!

6)- SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY BEHIND MAHABHARATA:

Dr Subramanyam has forwarded a link to a Blog which gives a scientific view of the Mahabharata War. 
It is interesting to note what the author says at the end :
"When I first read the full content of Mahabharatha [English prose translated from the Original Sanskrit Text by Kisari Mohan Ganguli [1883-1896] (My heartiest pranams to him)] It's scientific and technological descriptions were mind-boggling. I strongly believe it to be history and not mythology. There may be some information addition and personal bias involved due to the long period of time involved. Also the epic being transmitted from generation to generation through oral communication for almost 3000 years is bound to suffer from information loss. But still a major portion of it seems to be historical and not fiction for me. It is an history which seems unbelievable for a prejudiced generation which considers itself as most modern and scientific. In fact mahabharatha challenges the western world which takes credit of most of the inventions/discoveries that was long before mentioned in this epic. I strongly believe we haven’t realistically portrayed in our Indian feature films (using latest technology) the various scientific and technical features of this great epic. This epic has got the potential to create hundreds of “Avatar” like Hollywood films."

7)- NOKKU KOOLI:

I want to share this news item appeared in Mathrubhoomi dated23-11-2011. It is an incident of atrocity in the name of NOKKU KOOLI !
Nokku kooli is an unofficial labor norm in Kerala under which wages are paid to trade union activists for allowing investors/builders to unload materials using machines or their own labor[1]. In Malayalam, 'nokku kooli', translates into 'gawking wages' or 'wages for (just) looking on'.[2]
The highly militant Head Load workers of Alppuzha demanded NOKKU KOOLI of Rs.24,00,000.00 (Rs. Twenty Four Lakh Only) for doing nothing but for witnessing leisurely the unloading of huge pipes by Cranes!
This show of brutal force occured in Valiyakulam, Alappuzha city, where the work related to implementation of a major drinking water project for solving the drinking water problem of common public is under progress. On the evening of 20-11-2011, Sunday, trucks with loads of huge pipes of dimensions-12 metre length and 1.5 metre diametre arrived at the Water Authority compound. Every truck was loaded with five such pipes. The contractor engaged cranes for unloading the pipes. Then entered the OMNI POTENT leader of Head Load Workers' Union affiliated to the INTUC. He demanded charges(!) of Rs.24.00 Lakh at the rate of Rs. 10,000.00 per a load of pipes. The contractor pleaded with the union leader that the cranes were being summoned because those heavy pipes can not be unloaded by using human force and hence it is not justified to demand any charges to the labour for doing nothing. The militant members of the union then obstructed the work. The poor contractor had to stop the work and rush to the Alappuzha Municipal Chairperson seeking their help. The Chairperson who was equally helpless contacted the district collector and sought his intervention. The collector in turn advised the Labour Commissioner to settle the issue. There were rounds of discussions between the team of District Officials and the great union leaders. The union leaders, on sympathetic and humanitarian grounds, reduced their demand to Rs.14.40 lakh @ Rs.6,000.00 per load. After lot of bargaining and all,  the issue was settled for Rs.1,10,000.00. Long live the generocity of the most militant labour force of this HIGHLY EDUCATED, CIVILIZED, indian state, which is called 'OWN COUNTRY OF GODS ONLY', as the common and innocent malayalee is living in peace only outside the state.
